Dorset Talent Pathway, Application Form - u12 to u18 Boys and Girls Squads!

6 Aug 2024 by Caroline Palmer

Applications for our 2024/25 Talent Pathway U12-U18 Boys and Girls Squads are now open. These squads allow the most talented cricketers within age groups within the county the opportunity to receive coaching from some of the best coaches in the county, and start their journey within the Talent Pathway. Please see below information regarding Observations and how to apply.

Our Talent Pathway selection process this year for these age groups consists of the opportunity to attend multiple coaching sessions over the observation period. This allows us to view players multiple times and make more informed decisions on selection. The applications process is open, and its not a necessity to be playing cricket at a club or school, although we ask that players who apply have hard ball experience.

The observation period is from September, through to October,  dates for which can be found on the application form.  The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 23rd August.  Shortly afterwards, applicants will be contacted with timings and specific details for their sessions.

Please do forward this application form to anyone you feel it would be appropriate for, bearing in mind the above.

Talent Pathway Programme and Costs

Any player identified at our Observation Days by our Talent Pathway coaching team will be invited to join the Talent Pathway programmes for the 2025 season at their respective age group. They will be contacted after the observation days should they be successful.

To be transparent, there are costs involved in taking a place on our Talent Pathway. Our subscription covers the costs of indoor coaching, outdoor development sessions and match play. We are continuously endeavouring to lower the cost to parents to be members of our Talent Pathway and currently work to a break-even budget. For those that require financial assistance, Dorset Cricket work with The Ed Kent trust to provide support with the associated costs with being a member of the Talent Pathway.
